Actor Dwayne Johnson and his alcohol brand Teremana Tequila have launched an initiative called it Guac on the Rock.

It looks to support those restaurants in the United States that have been hit worst by the Covid-19 pandemic.

As part of the initiative, customers will get a reimbursement for the guacamole they buy along with the Teremana Tequila cocktail.

What is the Guac on the Rock initiative?

People can avail the Guac on the Rock offer from May 1 to May 5. Incidentally, Johnson’s birthday falls on May 2.

Teremana has reportedly set aside $1 million to reimburse customers as part of this initiative, it said in a statement. The reimbursements will stop once the cap of $1 million is reached.

Each customer will get a reimbursement of up to $10 for each qualifying dine-in or take-out order, said the brand.

It aims to “generate millions of dollars of additional revenue and tips for restaurants and its [sic] servers,” said Teremana.

How to get the reimbursement?

Consumers who want the reimbursement may start by doing uploading their bill on guacontherock.com. They can reach the website by either logging in directly or scanning the QR codes at restaurants.

They will receive the reimbursed amount on Venmo once the company approves the reimbursement.

This offer is open to only US citizens who are 21 years of age. However, they may have to check whether their state is offering dine-in or take-out.

Dwayne Johnson said about the initiative: “I want to help get people safely back into our restaurants, bars and hotels.”

He added: “This is an industry close to my heart and one who normally gives all of us so much support year-round.”

He also said: “These people need our help and support to get back in business.”
